Andrew Mason was, without doubt, the finest young amateur actor of the 1980's. He won a string of Best Actor awards in festivals as far apart as Ireland, Australia and Brazil. In fact his two films "The Pilot's Tale" and "Mr Minor and I" finished first and second at the Australian Film Festival in the same year. Andrew's talent was such that he could handle any role whether it was an 11 year old psychopath in "The Lord of the Dance", a little boy mourning the death of his father in "The Pilot's Tale" or an autistic child in "The Poacher's Tale", nothing seemed to be beyond the range of this incredible young actor. Andrew made seven films between 1985 and 1987, often turning down professional work to do the roles he particularly wanted to play. This guy was always the standard that everyone else was judged by - and none of them ever came anywhere near to his astonishing ability and talent!
