After such a cult hit as The NeverEnding story it was always going to be hard for any actors to follow Noah Hathaway and Barret Oliver. But here's a guy who did just that, and did it really well. Although I don't thing that The NeverEnding Story 2 is up to the first one, I do feel that Jonathan gives a really first class performance as Bastian. Jonathan brings his own techniques to the part and although his acting perhaps lacks the vulnerability of Barrett Oliver his facial expressions and "eye acting" are quite superb and a lesson to any young actor. If you haven't seen NeverEnding Story 2 then do see it, it's well worth a visit. Jonathan as we know went on to make many more great TV series and movies.
