Here's one of the finest child actors that I have ever seen. Harry Eden is not only one terrific kid actor but he also has the guts to take on the toughest and most unpleasant of roles. Also full marks to his parents and agent for having the courage to let him make these most testing of movies. Harry has done a number of commercials and appeared on TV in the traumatic "Real Men", he also played Nibs in Peter Pan. It is his superb performance in "PURE", that I feature here. This 18 certificate film is one of the most traumatic movies I have ever seen, it points a powerful social issue and should be compulsive viewing for anyone stupid enough to consider experimenting with drugs. The scene where Harry's ten year old character, Paul takes, heroin is one of the most powerful scenes that I have ever seen and Harry Eden's acting is just breathtaking, surely no child actor could have played it better and a lot of "Big Names" wouldn't have come close to Harry. I'm a huge fan of Haley Joel Osment but on the evidence of PURE then Harry should get the Oscar that was denied to HJO.
I bet Hollywood doesn't have the guts to give it to him though!
