I've only seen this guy in one movie and that's "The Possession of Joel Delaney". Released in 1971 this production has been considered by some as superior to "The Exorcist" and with a cast that includes Shirley Maclaine, Sir Michael Hordern and Perry King this has to be one serious movie. Although I, personally, do like "The Possession of Joel Delaney" I don't myself consider it as good as "The Exorcist", but it is certainly a most disturbing and powerful movie. David Elliott is quite excellent in the role of Peter Benson and although not quite as demanding as that of Linda Blair's role in "The Exorcist" it certainly isn't far behind it. It's one that most child actors would baulk at. The scene where David is forced to strip naked and dance on a table top by the knife wielding soul possessed Joel Delaney must have been incredibly difficult for him to perform and one which requires complete detachment. David handles this with the total aplomb that he shows throughout the movie. This is a movie that is well worth watching and David's performance is quite excellent, I promise you that after seeing "The Possession of Joel Delaney" you will never look at your relatives in quite the same way again!
