A few years ago I was commissioned to write a stage musical called "Mowgli" based on "The Jungle Book". It was the only stage work that I've ever written and it was really successful, ever since then I've always had a soft spot for any adaptation of "The Jungle Book". This version ("The Second Jungle Book - Mowgli and Baloo") absolutely took my breath away, if you haven't already done so go out and buy a copy of it now! Jamie Williams' performance has to be seen to be believed, his expressions are legion and he just looks so completely perfect for the part. I can only guess at the discomfort he must have suffered filming in that heat, as well as the patience needed with so many animals (they are also brilliant). This is a performance that is as good as it gets, yes I know Sabu was great in the earlier movie but this guy gets my vote every time - they don't come any better than Jamie Williams - that I promise you.
