"East is East" is one of those truly great movies that you want to see again and again. Not only is it hilariously funny but it also raises some of the most serious question about multi culturism and racism. This movie is not only superb entertainment but, like "Kes" all those years ago, it also is a powerful force for change and understanding. The acting is universally quite superb. There is one terrific performance from little Jordan Routledge as Sajid, this is a very difficult role to play. It is deceptive in the nuances required and it is a measure of Jordan's great talent that he tackles it head on and produces a balanced, thoughtful, realistic and truly sensitive performance. Take it from me this is a child actor of the very highest ability.

If you haven't seen "East is East" then buy a copy. Don't rent one because this is a "must have movie". I am reliably informed by a "german" colleague that Jordan is about to/has made another movie - now that is something worth looking forward to!
