THE PEARL SEEKER

In the UK (even if I do say it myself) we make some really excellent TV commercials and this is one of the very best of all time. This advert produced for the Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society is an absolute masterpiece. The C&G produced a similar one a few years ago and take it from me the production values are outstanding. Okay here's the detail on the advert. Actually it's not one boy but two! They are both Israelis and are called Nes and Nimrod. The advert was filmed at Fox Studios, Baja, Mexico (where Titanic and Pearl Harbour were filmed), Eden Rock and Rum Point, Grand Cayman. The shot of the outside is only half real. The ground floor was built underwater on location in the Caymans, the rest was computer generated back in London. This was some advert, they used 33,200 feet of film, 13 camera and lighting technicians, 33 construction workers, 3 miles of scaffolding, 38 tons of lighting equipment and Elizabeth Taylor's personal fish handler!
