Richard was always 'Ricky' Beaumont to those of us who knew him. Ricky was the son of well known comedy actress Sally Barnes and inherited her talent and good looks. He lived on a huge concrete houseboat moored on the Thames and had a brother Martin, who was an actor, and a sister Laura, who was a dancer. Ricky was one of the most talented kids I ever met, his performance as Tiny Tim in the musical film "Scrooge" playing opposite Albert Finney was quite brilliant. Ricky was also outstanding in "Digby, the Biggest Dog in the World" where he acted with Jim Dale. As well as being an incredibly talented young actor, Ricky was also a brilliant singer and was signed up by Tom Jones' manager and actually released an LP with Decca records. Ricky acted in "Who Slew Aunty Roo" and I actually did a live musical show with him when he was about 12, he acted me off the stage!! I remember the audience loved him. I don't know what Ricky is doing these days, why he's not a major star I will never know. Ricky Beaumont was not only one of the most talented kids I ever knew, he was also one of the nicest.
