Lee gave a great performance in the Children's Film Unit's WWII movie, "Willie's War". The movie follows a rather predictable trail of small East End "cockney sparrow" evacuated to posh upper class country house where he is befriended by the flawed heir of said house. A brief falling out allows Willy to give his much bigger friend a thrashing at boxing but the status quo is soon reestablished. The CFU always mount their movies with considerable panache and style and this one is no exception. The location is stunning and the addition of several well known established adult "stars" does the production no harm at all! That being said this is an excellent performance from young Lee who more than holds his own against all comers. His timing is excellent and he has a myriad of expressions that immediately take your sympathy. A first class acting performance that is all the more creditable as the CFU are an amateur organization who more than hold their own in the full blown professional scene.
